The blogBuddies Project Site is now up (again)!

0.4 Alpha

As I never released 0.3.1, I decided just to incorporate those features into 0.4 alpha. 0.4 alpha is not finished and not ready for release (I'm not done adding features), but the current version is up for testing. The new features (since 0.3.1) include:

• MySpace support (by friendID)


• JavaScript-ified (AJAX is planned) display reordering

Cross-site scripting

Today, Secunia issued an advisory concerning cross-site scripting in blogBuddies. I have issued a patch. The dhost site has already been patched.

On another note, the main site is down. For the time being, I will not be fixing it. All the information will be contained here and on the SF project page.

blogBuddies 0.4 will most likely be released over Winter break.

blogbuddies 0.3.1 up for Testing

As you may have surmised, I have put 0.3.1 alpha up for testing on the test site. Version 0.3.1 incorporates two new features, added per user requests. These are:

• a userlist -- a public list of all registered users (only username is disclosed).


• an "Add to blogBuddies" button -- similar to the "Add to MyYahoo!" buttons.

The site, revisited

As you may know, the blogBuddies site was inoperative for a short while. This issue has since been resolved. Visit the site, register, and voice your opinion. I'd love to hear what you have to think about blogBuddies and what features would be helpful to you. Do you want a button to click to add a friend? Do you want to see all the users registered? Do you want to be able to view LJ, GJ, and DJ protected posts? Go to the site and voice your opinion.

The server hosting the blogBuddies project seems to have had some strange problem.

blogBuddies 0.3

Today I released version 0.3 of blogBuddies. This major release is targeted on expanding the functionality of blogBuddies. blogBuddies now supports additional blogging services, namely GreatestJournal, DeadJournal, and Xanga. In addition, blogBuddies now supports generic RSS feeds and generic Atom feeds. (Read more)
